NZISA RUNNING COMPETITION

Starting in 2027 the NZISA will be holding a new competition for runners and walkers with the chance to compete as individuals and between NZISA Clubs. This competition is open to everyone of all abilities, ages and whether you are running competitively, for fitness or just to meet a personal goal. There is no limit to how many entries you can make in a year and every finish counts get your club points and the fastest times will appear on the leaderboard. So get your shoes on and make sure you send us your result!

For individuals there are six medals up for grabs for the fastest man and woman across three distances - 10km, Half Marathon and Marathon in each calendar year. The fastest times in 2027 will become the inaugural NZISA record holders and the target for our community to beat.

Each participant who submits their results can nominate their club to earn points for their club in the inter-club competition. 1 point for a 10km, 2 points for a Half Marathon and 4 points for a Marathon. The Club with the most points at the end of the year wins the trophy. You can enter results from events that have a different distance (greater than 10 Km) to collect points for your club.

Entry Criteria:

To enter there are three simple criteria to enter:

  • You need to be a member of an NZISA Member Club

Members of any ethnicity are welcome to contribute to their clubs points tally. Awards for annual times and NZISA records can only be held by people of Indian descent.

  • You need to have completed an organised event in the given year (it can be in New Zealand or Overseas)

‘Organised’ means you need to be able to show an official distance and finish time as recorded by the organiser (No Strava screenshots!)

  • You must sumbit your finish times to us by the deadline to be included.

The cut off date to submit your times is the 7th of January (to allow for events up to the end of the year)
